Roma citta eterna

There are already three countries in my heart (Italy, France and Netherlands) and many others where I have been living only for a limited time (oh California.... such an enriching experience!).
But there is only one city in the world where I feel completely myself, where I like the noise and the smells, where I like the somehow polite arrogance or the impolite phlegm, where I can wait for hours in a queue wich is never straight or which usually never exist...but who cares when you have thousands of beauties to look at while waiting? An open museum, colours on every house, history on every corner...

All the roads bring to Rome so why did I escape? Ambition? Expectations of something better? But is there really anything better than the smell and the sounds of our own hometown? Even though we may have to wait on line and restart all the procedure again the day after for any administrative matter? Even though we can not ride a bicycle without being killed?
Wherever we travel, wherever we go, we will always be back from where we started! And I am lucky as Roma is eternal and will always be there waiting for me!!!

A nostalgic evening next to a beautiful canal triggered by all these "what I miss and I don't have here..." I would say in only one word THE ATMOSPHERE!!!! This is the main difference....

And if you go to Roma don't forget to throw a coin in Fontana di Trevi to make sure that you will be back!

    ...assolutamente magnifica...

    Hi Bicuka!
Si Roma e bellissima, but like every city it has to be known with someone who knows the REAL life...
So now I am in Athens and everybody looks at the Acropole...but with my Greek friend we looked on our back at the mount Likabet (not sure about the spelling!)
    FANTASTIC!
